This section is meant specifically for the new ladies on the board so they can get to know what it's like.
First is some board etiquette. These things aren't laws by theknot.com for the message boards, but it is appreciated if it is followed.
--Introduce yourself!
When newcomer's get on the board it can often be confusing when they post randomly. A little introduction about you and you wedding is great! Things to help you along: Your name as well as your fiancee, where you are from, your wedding date, your vision for your wedding, and where you are in the planning process
--Lingo!
There is a lot of acronyms being used on the board (all boards) so learning them can be very helpful when reading and replying to posts. Further down the page you will find a list.
--Dirty Deletes
This is deleting a thread you've started without prior notice to the ladies on the board. This usually happens when someone asks for help/advice and they don't like the response they are getting. No one likes dirty deletes because the usual girls on the board feel as if they're wasting their time helping someone with their advice and it could've been helpful to multiple knotties wondering the same questions but just didn't ask yet.
--Knottie Disclaimer
This will be something you will see just about on everyone's planning bio or blog. If you see a picture on a planning bio or blog and you want to save it to put in yours, please either ask for their permisson or give them credit in you bio when you put the picture in by saying something to the effect of "credit to (person's screen name) for this picture"
--One more thing!
Ladies, please remember this a world-wide board and anyone with internet access can read what you have posted about. Please don't post personal information as there have been instances in the past where someone has used too much personal info and have had their venue or vendors cancelled. We really want this to refrain from happening so use protection!
